More About Banja Luka

Festival Organizer BST

Students' theatre from Banja Luka was founded on 19th February 1977 with its first rehearsal and audition at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Banja Luka, classroom number 14. The first director and concept creator was actor Zivomir Licanin Likota on 31st May 1977. On the stage of today's Banski dvor in Banja Luka, an academy in honor of Josip Broz Tito, named "I beg the party to accept me into its ranks" was performed.

That evening, on theatre and cultural scene of the city on the Vrbas River, STUDENTS' THEATRE was born – a nucleus around which students of Banjaluka's University, highschool students and all theatre lovers gathered.

The significance of the existence and work of the Students' Theatre and its contribution to the cultural life of Banja Luka, in recent years, is priceless.
